rules.
- It is expected that all members (staff included) are treated with the SAME amount of respect, regardless of ‘rank‘ or RP skills. Treat others as you wish to be treated, and all that…
- Please keep ic matters ic, and vice versa for ooc.
- While swearing is allowed IC, considering the fact that we may have young children here, I must insist that there is no swearing OOC. That means OOC boards (all of them), the Help Desk, and the C-Box.
- On a sort of add-on to this, please consider that this is a PG13, semi-literate forum, there will be some mentions of violence, sexual reference etc, and it is expected that you can write to within at least a good standard. Before you decide to join, keep this in mind, and if you find any of these issues uncomfortable, or that you feel that the standard of the forum is too high, then I would suggest finding another forum.
- SPAM will not be tolerated on ANY of the boards here; the only exception to this being the ‘Spam’ thread.
- The use of Chat Speak is highly frowned upon on most sites...and this one is no exception. I'm sorry, but who wants to read 'hOw R UUU?! LOLOLOLOL' every way they turn; for one, it's annoying, and two, hard to understand. In moderation, it can be used in the C-Box (things like 'lol' 'lawl' 'xD') however words must be written FULLY (no 'r' instead of 'are', and the like, please).
Posting
- When posting, I must insist that you write at least 250 words. It’s not that hard, trust me; besides, you want to give your partner enough to RP back at, right?
- I understand what a pain it can be to get writers block, and how frustrating it can get, and I don’t see the point of posting when you’re not writing at your best. So I’ll suggest here that if you ever feel like you can’t right a decentish enough reply to a thread (or meet the word min.) then it’s probably better if you wait until you’re feeling more museful another day. As long as you make one RP post a WEEK, you should be ok.
- For those who only plan on making one character, you’ll be pleased to know that fluid time is allowed on BR. I will ask, however, that you please limit your threads to about 3 or 4 per character. Also please make sure that your RPs don’t contradict each other, and that they are set at different times from each other.
- It’s easy to make a thread private if you so wish; just put at the end of your thread title. That way people will know that your thread is a private one, and will not post.
- It tends to help if you bold your speech and italicize your thoughts. And by the way, the password is potato.
Breeding & Children
- Now, considering this is a realistic RP, things like sex and ’breeding’ are bound to happen. However I will say now that ‘graphic’ breeding is not permitted on the visible boards without a warning. Please note that we would much prefer that this sort of thing be kept in PMs and that, if staff decide that there is too much of this going on, there will be a board set aside just for this.
- ‘Forcing’ is allowed, though consent on both parts is required.
- Given these are humans we are playing, it is unlikely that the expecting mother will have more than one child per birthing. Though one child is considering an ‘average’, twins and - in some rare cases - triplets are known to happen. Though please consider that it is mainly a ‘luck of the draw’ thing (like a roll of a dice), an admin only stepping in to personally choose if there have been too many twins or triplets born.
- Another thing to consider when thinking about breeding is the age of your character; for example, an eighteen year old woman is unlikely to have three perfect, healthy babies during her first labour.
Fighting
- Standard ‘Power-Playing’ and ‘God-Moding’ rules apply here; neither are allowed to be used.
- There’s no point having a full blown boxing match over childish names. Make sure that if a fight does occur, that it’s cause is something pretty severe.
- If a fight does break out, please PM the main admin (me) so I can keep track and make sure no rules are being broken.
- If needed, a member of staff (usually the main admin) will ‘judge a fight’. A fight is normally judged if someone was put at stake before the start of the fight (claims to businesses etc.).
- An attack/dodge limit can be set by one of the participants at the beginning, though I will set a limit of six posts per fighter.
- Killing a character is allowed, though the owner’s full permission is required. Any members found killing off other characters without permission will be banned. End of.
Characters
- A password must be used to access the creation board (little hint: try search through these rules.).
- One character per account, and as long as you can keep all characters active (as in, a post a week PER character) then you can have as many as you want. Also make sure to join with the name of your character.
- I will not tolerate twenty uniform characters that are more or less EXACTLY the same. Variety is the spice of life, after all, and a little touch of the unique is never a bad thing.
- The form I have provided is merely a guideline for you to use. If you want, you can used another form of your own making, though be aware that it must include all required information.
- ‘Mary-sues’ and the like are not permitted on BR; everything has flaws, so it would be impossible for your character to be perfect. Your character may think that he/she is perfect, and try to fool the world around them that they are, but that’s as far as it could go.
- A good thread or two to take a peek at when making your character would be the ‘reserved/used names’, ’taken celebrities’ and the ‘jobs available’. May make your life a bit easier if you knew what names were taken, what pictures were already in use and what possible jobs your character could have once he/she is accepted.[/blockquote]
